LIVE LOVE AND LAUGH, ALWAYS
To be a "lover", in my opinion, means to simply be human. We all define the term "love" in our own ways as we journey through life. Though, in the past, many people associate Valentine's Day with being a day dedicated to celebrating romantic relationships, I am a supporter of having Valentine's Day be an extra reminder that universal love should always be celebrated. Universal love is the kind that can be defined and experienced by all types of earth dwellers: from love experienced between friends to family to pets to romantic partners, and, lastly, to love of life! With that being said, here are seven reasons to adore Valentine's Day.....
1. A day to emphasize the importance of self-love
Put yourself first in order to live a healthier, more fulfilled life, in the long run.
2. Pink, red, and white everything!
From fluffy white sweaters to rose lattes to strawberry cupcakes to red lipstick, go all out and enjoy the festive color scheme.
3. "Send love", literally and emotionally, to friends and family
Release positive energy and meaningful thoughts about someone, and I assure you that they'll feel your love, regardless of how many miles away they are.
4. Give back through small gifts
Hand-crafted goods are the best for this! Anything, even something as simple as a nice handwritten note, can go a long way in touching some one's heart (whether that person be a close loved one, a community member, or even a complete stranger).
5. Dress up and slay
Whether you are going out for Valentine's Day or not, use today as an excuse to wear clothes and accessories that you normally don't get to wear on a daily basis. And, if you are really feeling up for it, get creative and take some pics for memory.
6. SPLURGE
I'm not really a big spender, but, on days like these, my favorite thing to do is treat myself to the max! Whether you wanna spend the day at the spa, have a full on cheat day, or buy yourself that item that you've been dreaming about for a while, make sure to gift yourself with all the little goodies that your heart desires.
7. Make it your day!
Calling all my people whose names are either Valentine, Valentina, or Valentino! I dare you to have fun with it and turn it into your day! My whole life, I've always celebrated this holiday, especially with my Italian family, as it not only is my Saint day but also a huge excuse to call it my day.
So, with that, HAPPY VALENTINA DAY to all you beautiful people! Cheers to my first official article for this website; looking forward to exploring my creativity and sharing my experiences with you all.
