My Summer Sublease in LIC

Sunlight, railroads, and all-white interiors

This summer I had the pleasure of staying in the city and working in real estate full time with my brokerage firm. Because there were no classes going on, I had to find a short summer lease in an apartment as opposed to staying in the dorms.

I never imagined that I would live in Queens because i wasn't very familiar with that borough. However, after doing a deep apartment search, I found myself an amazing deal for a studio in Long Island City.

The apartment was located on the same block of a metro station which could take me to Brooklyn, Upper East Side and Downtown Manhattan. Additionally, I ended up exploring the neighborhood and I enjoyed being slightly outside of Manhattan. While living there for the summer, I spent most of my leisure time in Upper Manhattan, LIC, and Astoria.

This studio was a great summer escape for me and was my first experience renting in NYC (def a big memory for me). It had floor-to-ceiling windows and came fully furnished with a queen bed, desk, wardrobe, in-unit washer/dryer, gym, pool, and private park. Next time I live outside of the dorms, I will definitely consider living outside of Manhattan in a studio similar to this one (hopefully I will get lucky again!).

Feel free to contact me if you have questions about living in the city.

Love always and forever,

Vale
